Danger mouse, Sparklehorse, David Lynch and a horde of guest vocalists.
You can't buy this album, for legal reasons. You can buy the book of lynch's photography, all based on the songs from this album, which comes with a cd-r.

Oh, and the album is ace anyway, so you should obtain it by whatever means you can.
It does seem like the book is going to be available from amazon in the uk.

P.S. I should point out that this is entirely
*Ok, not so much DEMANDED as SUGGESTED.....Whilst Drunk.
There seems to be a lot of unhappiness and illness around both here on the interweb and out there in the real world too.
I want to be able to make it all better but I don't know how. I would advise that where possible people get outside and into the sunshine. it doesn't make your troubles or ills go away but it's warming and does make you feel a bit healthier, stronger and more able to cope. Well, I find it does anyway.
I also advise a good listening to Carrot Rope by Pavement, that song never fails to lift my spirits and put a smile on my face.
Hope everyone's day improves,
Love you all.

64 albums were nominated in the first stage, and going over the nominations i can still think of other albums that came out this year that didn't impress anyone enough to earn them a place in this extremely important list!
So what I need from you in this mid-way stage is simple. have a look through the list below, these are the 64 albums you nominated. Check the little box on ALL the albums you have heard and enjoyed this year. It doesn't matter if you didn't nominate them initially, it doesn't matter if they're not in your top ten for the year, Tick as many as you like. Also, it not too late to get your friends involved. and this stage is anonymous as well, so you can admit to liking the Ting Tings and everything!
Now I'm not sure how the facebook note importer is going to deal with a poll, so you may need to come here - http://roy-dcour.livejournal.com/65

Anyway, the lines are now closed as it were for the nominations. I'll post the voting round next Monday when most people should be back at work and looking for an excuse to spend 15 minutes ticking boxes and thinking about all the good music from the last year instead of actually working.
Merry Chrimble!
Christmas dinners all bought and waiting eagerly to be cooked in the fridge. I should probably jot down some kind of cooking plan really, before I start cooking.
I'm off to teh BC after work tonight to get in the last minute gifts, I would have gotten them earlier but I only got paid today. I'm not really looking forward to it but hey ho (let's go!).
Then when I get home I shall be closing the doors on my Top albums of 2008 PRELIMINARY NOMINATIONS ROUND!. So if you haven't given me you nominations yet, get to it! Also if you know other people who like to have opinions on this kind of thing then tell them about it too! The 2nd Round will be up on monday with poll-tastic voting madness!! Whoop!
Anyway, If I don't speak to you before, have an Excellent Christmas and take care.
And remember....Don't Drink & Drive!!

Basically I want you to go to it and list all your favorite albums released in 2008, the first stage is just nominations so list as many and in any order you like won't make a difference to the final standings. The voting stage will start at at the end of the week!
- Mood:
cheerful
There have been loads of good albums this year, what are your favorites? give me lists please! I'll collate them and then start some kind of polling system, to figure out what we all think are the best ones.
I'm just looking for nominations at the moment so don't worry about putting them in any order of favour just yet, Also list as many as you like.
I'll leave this post viewable to anyone so feel free to get your friends to get involved too, the more people that take part the better the results will be, right?
I'll close this first 'round' on wednesday and hopefully have the voting round ready to go before the end of the week.

Looking at easyjet, Flights would cost around £35 in jan or feb, 7 Euros to get in, which is now pretty much £7. I have no idea how much drinks would be. but I'm well up for it.
Obviously you'd have to be pretty keen on the music they play there. Check out the Mojo club presents series here, and click on the recordings tab.
For a badly translated by google description of the club, go here
I know a couple of non-LJ people who'd probably be up for it, but the more the merrier!

But it IS expensive! at £65 each and with 4 in total, I'm entering in to quite a pricey collection, but I've been umming and arring about it for ages now, and finally decided to take the plunge.
One of the main things holding me back was the fact that I already own 8 out of the 10 regular paperbacks, which I'm now looking to sell, They're worth around £100 in total but I'm looking to get about £50-60 for the lot, Or feel free to make me an offer.
Also if you know anyone who may be interested then point them in the direction of this post, I'll make it public so everyone can see!
Cheers.

first of all i got there by following a link from a torrent site, then it tells me that I can download tracks legally from as little as $0.20 and whole albums for $2 (including, I might add, a whole load of Cal Tjader albums!!)
My interest definitely piqued, i went through the registration step of registering my email address and giving a password. It then asked me to top up my account, so i made with the clickety click but Instead of any kind of payment details page I got a message saying that they were giving me $10 free, and that I'll also be able to claim $10 free once a week provided my account balance is below $2.
THEN, it tells me that for every friend that follows this link - http://www.mp3fiesta.com/?user=4070225
Too good to be true?? It certainly feels that way, I'm scouring the site for small print now.
I never know how to answer that question, my mind is suddenly filled with hundreds of thing I 'want', like a castle. or a speedboat. or a pair of unicorns.
Under that a cornucopia of things that are slightly more reasonable lie, but they are numerous and all of them equal in terms of how much I want them. I can't possibly list them all because that would just take ages and probably make the listener wish they'd never asked.
I usually answer this question by asking for vouchers, Ikea vouchers are the best because it's somewhere you might not necessarily go to buy stuff ordinarily but a) there is always something you'll want there and b) the mere experience of shopping in Ikea is enough to make most people I know act like a small child at an amusement park.
Also last week I have discovered the Amazon.co.uk wishlist feature, extremely useful. You can just go to Amazon and search for people either by name or e-mail and see if they have a wishlist. This is probably another one of those internet things that I'm the last person in the world to pick up on. It's like window shopping but you can leave a little stamp on everything you see and like so that people who are out looking for something to buy you later on can know what it is you want.
I'm terrible at buying presents myself, usually because I'll think of something to get someone and then assume that I can just go out and get it at any time I like, which I then find not to be the case at all and the shops that stock said gift are either closed until it is to late or just plain out of stock of whatever it is I was going to buy!
This resulted in Livvie getting a George Foreman Grill for Christmas, which has turned out to be the most USEFUL thing I've ever bought anyone, but that's not really the point.
I also tend to worry( as worrying is my way) that if I buy anyone something they obviously want then everyone else is going to have bought them the same thing.
What about you? tell me your present anecdotes! *
Most importantly, one of the best things about presents is that element of surprise. when someone has just bought you something completely out of the blue, without asking what you want, and got it spot on. They're the best kind of presents, no?
No, actually, the best present any one can give is to just be there in person to help celebrate the day...
*Sorry, that came across as a bit bossy, didn't it?
